The Finishing Touch: Styling a Laundry Room With Wallpaper

A laundry room is one of the hardest working spaces in a home, but that does not mean it has to feel purely practical. When we styled this one, we wanted the everyday essentials to be easy to reach while giving the room the same warmth and attention as the rest of the house.
We started with storage that looked good on open shelves. NEAT Method Cane Baskets gave smaller items a place to live and brought a natural texture into the room. We paired them with Anchor Hocking glass canisters from The Container Store. The clear glass kept useful supplies in sight, but made the shelves feel styled. We also brought in pieces from The Good Day, a home and lifestyle shop here in Birmingham, Michigan.
Once everything had its place, the room looked lovely. Still, we knew it needed one final layer.
That layer was Phillip Jeffries wallpaper. We often use prints in a subtle way, and this was a perfect example. The wallpaper added interest without making the room feel busy. It brought the baskets, glass, and finishing pieces together and made the space feel complete.
That is what we love about styling. A laundry room can be organized and useful, but it can also make you happy every time you walk in. Sometimes the detail that changes everything is on the walls.
The Edit provides interior styling and accessorizing for homes in Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills, and throughout Metro Detroit. If you have a space that works but does not yet feel finished, we would love to help you find its final touch.
